Everyone roots for the Underdog
We all love a good underdog story. A hero faced with impeccable odds, stacking higher and higher against them until the problems begin to shadow where there’s already shade. Just when the hero thinks it can’t get any worse, life piles on more and more until they are practically written off or in such bad condition they are faced with a decision. Quit or carry on.
Why do we root for the Underdog?
It gives hope. Because we see ourselves in them. Underdogs are a living testament that anything is possible. That there is a possibility that despite everything one feels, everything one is facing, there is hope. Underdogs inspire us because their courage is contagious. Watching them overcome their impossible obstacles and injustice, inspire us. Watching them move their mountains and molehills, motivate us. And watching them drill through their drama and doubt, drives us. We live vicariously through those who venture onto the unknown because it sparks something inside us we never knew we had.
It is through time dedicated to volunteering at animal rescues that we have had the fortune of hearing the most inspiring tales of both brave animals and humans overcoming adversity. Animals such as Sven, a lab mix who born as the runt of litter and had a hard time adjusting with his siblings. His small stature made it hard for him to gain the nutrients he needed during the most crucial developmental periods of a puppies life
Foreword
When I first set out for this project, I completely underestimated how involved I would be with such a task. The various lives, both animals and humans, I have had the pleasure of interacting with have transformed this brand into something much bigger than myself. What initially started as a branding project in the hopes of starting a movement for a good cause, turned into a platform in which I will use to amplify the stories of those who overcame the hardest battles.
As an experienced Graphic Designer and animal lover, I understand how important it is to show your compassion and support for Everyone’s Best Friend, so I have committed to creating a minimalist line that allows you represent all the underdogs in the world, all while doing more good.
